The Ontario Airport Inn is in its full effort to conserve water and energy. We are working diligently to adopt eco-friendly practices, while being aware not to compromise our guest’s comfort and services. The following are just a few steps we have taken towards this goal, but our quest does not end here, as we will continue doing our part in being environmentally responsible by adopting additional eco-friendly strategies:

• A linen reuse program is in use in all guest rooms. This gives our guests an option to help in saving water by reusing their towels and linens.
  
  
• Low-flow showerheads, sink aerators, and toilets in use
  
  
• Fluorescent light bulbs in guestrooms, lobbies, and hallways.
  
  
• Whenever possible, we buy food and guest amenities in bulk (i.e., use refillable hair and skin care dispensers).
  
  
• Our staff is trained to turn off lights and turn down heating/air conditioning when rooms are unoccupied.
  
  
• Guestrooms have recycler baskets for newspaper, white paper, glass, aluminum, cardboard, and plastic.
  
  
• We provide recycling bins both in public areas and in the back offices (including one at each desk) to make recycling as easy as possible.
  
  
• We prefer to purchase office and guest amenity products that contain recycled material.
  
  
• Minimize the amount of paper used for each guest.
  
  
• Use nontoxic or least toxic cleaners, sanitizers, paints, pesticides, etc. throughout the hotel. Make sure all chemicals are stored safely in a well-ventilated area.
  
  
• Purchase "Energy Star" appliances wherever possible
  
  
• We use daylight exclusively in our lobby for as much of the day as possible.
  
  
• Our ongoing maintenance plan includes filter changing, coil cleaning, and damper adjustments.
  
  
• We monitor our energy and water use, so we can quickly make repairs or replace equipment when rate changes indicate problems.
  
  
• Use proper insulation and reflective roof coverings.
  
  
• Donate leftover guest amenities, old furniture and appliances to charities.
  
  
• Offer discounted rates to sustainable living/environmental organizations who would like to stay at and/or hold meetings at our hotel.
  
  
• We use a natural gas powered turbine generator which produces our own electricity.
  
  
• We use all environmental friendly products for laundry and guest room cleaning
